Hamada
Nils Petter Molvær is an amazing musician, he did bring a new sound to the ECM label, I remember listing one his first album (Khmer) and being completely overwhelm by his new sound. He is using a lot of sound treatments to it’s trumpets and also play with a lot of electronics, still the roots are in Jazz music.
The word “Hamada†is taken from the Arabian language and means dead, inanimately, congealed, lapsed. You can expect much more from his music, the soundscapes are exceptional. You can listen a few tunes on his web site:
